JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The United States Postal Service says it is not working with area law enforcement to fight crime.
Recently, information has been released to the public indicating Jackson area U.S. Postal Service mail carriers are working with the Jackson Police Department.
The postal service says there is no agreement or understanding in which mail carriers would be involved in any type of police activities.
Any type of assistance provided to law enforcement would only be done by federal law enforcement agents with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
