Hinds CC holds Entrepreneurship Day

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Hinds Community College held an Entrepreneurship Day Program on its Utica campus to encourage its students to put their best foot forward.

Guest speakers shared informative tools with aspiring business owners about how to run a successful business. The assembly was hosted to keep the students motivated in their business endeavors.

One key note speaker and business owner said that the first and most important thing to have is an idea and keep that idea alive by taking steps to build its momentum.

"Unless you're trying to be the best in the world that what ever it is you do. Second, is if you're doing that recognize the opportunity when it comes along that , Hey, maybe I'm good at something or maybe I'm in a unique place where I can do something that other people haven't done and then once you're in that place then step three is just take the first step and just keep walking and before you know it, you're running and before you know it, you got a business and you're not really sure how it happened," said CEO Joel Bomgar of  Bomgar Corporation.

The purpose of the program was to peak interest and the desire to start a business and create awareness in students who may not have discovered their potential.
