MAGEE, MS (WLBT) - A man and woman from Brandon will face federal charges after being arrested for robbing a Magee post office at gunpoint Friday.

Magee police investigator Randy Crawford says 53-year-old Joyce M. Walker and 47-year-old Clifton Paul Akers were stopped by officers around 2:20 p.m. Friday after holding up the post office on 3rd Street.

According to police, Walker entered the building with a 3-80-caliber semi-automatic pistol.

Akers was behind the wheel of a red Ford pick-up truck when officers stopped them on Highway 49 just minutes later.

Walker and Akers are being held at the Madison County jail.
