The State Supreme Court resinstated a Jackson attorney who had been suspended from practicing law for six months last year.
The high court said Chokwe Lumumba had satisfied conditions that he retake and pass the ethics portion of the Mississippi Bar Association exam. The bar had sought to punish Lumumba for comments he made to Circuit Court Judge Marcus d. Gordon in 2001.
Lumumba has contended he did nothing wrong. Justice Chuck Easley, in a dissent, says Lumumba has shown no remorse for his actions.
