U.S. Education Secretary Addresses State Board of Education & Others

President George W. Bush's top adviser on education is in the Capital city today.  The trip comes as city and state leaders wrestle with a slew of education issues.

U.S. Education secretary Margaret Spellings Thursday morning addressed the State Board of Education at its North West Street offices,  then she took part in a roundtable discussion with Governor Haley Barbour, State Education Chief Hank Bounds and others.

The federal government's "no child left behind" program is up for re-authorization.

Dr. Spellings is visiting various states to get ideas on fine-tuning the initiative.

We will have more on her visit at five and six.
