George Bell III Transferred from Parchman

Convicted killer George Bell III of Jackson is no longer in a Unit-32  "Supermax" cell at Parchman prison.

WLBT News has learned Bell is now being housed at a private Mississippi correctional facility in Wilkinson County.

Bell was sentenced to life behind bars for the brutal murder of his girlfriend, Mary Heather Spencer. It happened last September at his mother's home in north Jackson.

A Department of Corrections spokeswoman said Monday that Bell had been moved on August 12 and is now sharing cell with another inmate.

We are told with 25,000 inmates in the system, Bell and others are moved around for a variety of reasons.
