JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Two of the largest gun dealers in the Jackson metropolitan area report their sales are up dramatically.
The owner of Big Daddy's Pawn on Terry Road says his sales are up 30% over last year. Kevin McDonald says some people are telling him they are afraid the laws regulating gun sales will be changed if Barack Obama is elected president. They're choosing to buy now, before any potential changes.
"They come in and say, 'I am buying a weapon now,' because they don't think they will be able to buy one once the election is over with," says Paul Merritt, manager of Surplus USA in Clinton.
