Ole Miss coach files lawsuit against cab drivers

Posted: Updated:

Ole Miss basketball coach Andy Kennedy has filed a lawsuit against two Cincinnati, Ohio cab drivers.

Kennedy is charged with misdemeanor assault, accused of punching a cab driver and using racial slurs. The lawsuit claims two cab drivers conspired and did not give Kennedy and his group a ride because one of them was black.

Kennedy says a cab driver used racist remarks and refused to take the group to their hotel. Then, a second cab driver refused them a ride. Finally, a third cab took the group to their hotel.

The alleged incident happened early Thursday morning outside a bar in Cincinnati. The director of operations for the Ole Miss team, Bill Armstrong, was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Police say he was intoxicated and ejected from the bar. A pre-trial hearing is set for January 16th.
