Tyson's Boxing Truck Jackknifes on I-55

Mike Tyson says his fight will go on as scheduled this weekend in Memphis -- but the most crucial piece of equipment almost didn't make it.

Late Tuesday night, the truck and trailer transporting Tyson's boxing ring from TKO Productions in New Orleans ran off the interstate near McComb.

The pickup truck was pulling the trailer to Memphis when the driver lost control on I-55.

The boxing equipment was tossed around a bit, but nothing was seriously damaged.

"Everything was going fine," said TKO driver Leon Deano. "Then the trailer just started swaying real bad, and it jackknifed on me and put me off the road. It messed up the truck, messed up the trailer. I had to rent a truck so we can get to the Tyson fight."

The boxing ring and other equipment were transferred to a rental truck to continue the journey to Memphis.

The wrecked truck and trailer were taken to a local body shop.

No one was injured.

The fight is scheduled for Saturday.
