Most Wanted suspect still using her mother's stolen ID

Sheryl Lynn Mitchell has been on the run for a year. Not only that, she has been using her mother's stolen identity and getting away with it.

The Brandon mother has a problem she's had to cope with for years, her daughter's drug habit.

"She ran at me with knives, threw objects at me, cussed me out," said to Sharron Mitchell.

Her 23-year-old daughter Sheryl was busted last year for crack cocaine and sentenced to nine months in prison, but remains a felon on the run.

"She asked the judge if she could leave to pick up her things. He gave her an hour. She left and never returned," said Sharron Mitchell.

While hiding from lawmen the MOST WANTED suspect is using her mother's drivers license number and name. With the stolen identity Sheryl Mitchell ran up an $1,100 bill in tickets. A warrant was issued for her mothers' arrest and her drivers license was suspended.

"They suspended my drivers license, put a warrant out for me and it was hard getting all that straightened out," said Sharron Mitchell. "I have tickets in a little town called Tylertown."

Sharron Mitchell says her daughter was been spotted in Rankin county 3 weeks ago on Old Fannin Road. She is appealing for Sheryl to turn herself in.

"I wish she would respond, give herself up, cause she's only making it worse for herself," said Sharron Mitchell.

While the Brandon woman has successfully avoided her own arrest and cleared her name,  she's afraid this pattern of ID theft and trouble with the law will only continue.

"I'm not able to get rest, I'm steady dreaming that I'm getting arrested by the police," said Sharon Mitchell.

If you have any information on the location of Sheryl Lynn Mitchell call the Rankin County Sheriff's Department at 601-825-1480.
