High school playoff preview

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The state high school football championships are set and coaches and players from all involved met in Jackson this morning to talk about this weekend's title games.

Undefeated Tylertown will be going after the state 3A crown while Durant plays for the 1A title.

All of those involved in this weekend's title games say a state champion would mean quite a bit to their schools and communities.

"It would mean a lot, the first one ever you know in the football it's not gonna come easy it would mean a lot to the community because the whole town is behind us" said Tylertown's Deon Howard.

"Gonna stay focused and do what we are supposed to do and try to play 100 percent. Last year we got put out in south state, this year we won it and gonna try to win it all" added Oak Grove's Steve McNair, Jr.

The state high school championships kick off beginning Friday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
