Single mother in need receives special gift

PEARL, MS (WLBT) - A special gift made the holiday season brighter for a Pearl woman Monday morning.

Michelle Prestage received a living room set and three bedroom sets from Miskelly's Furniture.

A friend nominated her for the Season of Giving campaign, which is a partnership between Miskelly's and WLBT.

Neither Prestage nor her two teenage boys had a bed to sleep on until Monday.

Prestage said it was the first time she received new furniture.

"I'd go to Gateway [Rescue Mission] or people would give me furniture, which was fine, we made it," said Prestage. "But this is just, I don't know, I'm speechless."

Miskelly's and WLBT will donate furniture to nearly 25 families this year, through the Season of Giving program.
