JACKSON, MS (WLBT) -  University officials are questioning students of interest after an early morning evacuation at Jackson State University.

All students in Alexander hall were evacuated around 4:30 Thursday morning.

A university spokesperson said a group of male students were mixing chemicals inside the co-ed dorm when smoke erupted.

Officials are still investigating what kind of chemicals were used, but said no students were injured.

Right now, WLBT is receiving unconfirmed reports from students that it was a chemical bomb.

Jackson State University police are investigating, and will decide whether to take disciplinary action.

A Jackson State spokesperson said no one had been arrested as of noon Thursday.

All students were been able to return to the dorm less than two hours after the incident.
