Vehicle found in creek

JACKSON, MS (WLBT)- Officers received a call around 10:00 Saturday morning reporting an accident off the intersection of Robinson Road Extension and Chadwick Drive.

When officers arrived they found a black car submerged in a swollen creek. Police shut down Robinson Road Extension from Chadwick Drive to T.V Road for three hours while crews worked to recover the vehicle. The body of 28-year-old Jeremy Kendrick of Jackson was found inside.

"It was off an embankment, probably about 20 ft down and it was submerged over half of the vehicle was submerged in water. Jackson Fire Department did an excellent job of getting in and trying to assist and recover the body," said JPD officer Joseph Daughtry.

Right now police are not sure what caused the fatal wreck or how long the vehicle had been in the creek.
