Jackson teen killed, brother hurt in double shooting

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - One teen is dead and his brother is recovering following a double shooting in Jackson.

It happened just after 9:00pm Thursday, in the 400 block of Cummins Street. Jackson police responded to reports of shots being fired at the scene. When they arrived, they found two teens, gunned down.

Both were transported by AMR to local hospitals. Martez Collins died from his injuries.

"We have witnesses that saw the actual shooting that are being transported to the police headquarters to talk to the detectives," said JPD spokesman Joseph Daughtry.

Hollins' 16-year-old brother, Christopher Gilmore, was treated and released from the hospital.
