JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A Jackson woman is fighting for her life at a Georgia burn center after her boyfriend set her on fire outside a local night club.
Jackson Fire Investigator Chief Gregory Travis said crews were called around midnight to the VFW Lounge in the 4600 block of Sunray Drive. According to Travis, 49-year-old Lewis Wade poured gasoline on the woman and lit her on fire while she was inside a vehicle.
The woman, whose identity is not being released, suffered third degree burns and smoke inhalation. She was taken to UMC and later transported to a burn center in Georgia. Wade was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Chief Travis said more charges may follow. Wade is being held at the Hinds County Detention Center.
