JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A Jackson woman who lost everything in a house fire is finally able to sleep in her own bed.

Bettie Taylor received a new bed, a dresser, and a rug from Miskelly's furniture Monday through the "Season of Giving" program.

A number of people nominated Taylor for the program, including a former employer.

Taylor's home burned down in February. With help from her insurance company and Broadmoor Baptist Church, she was able to rebuild and move back in last month.

The mother of 9 and adopted mother of 6 says she's spent her life helping people, and is amazed at the help she's received.

"I just can't explain it. I feel like I'm up to my neck in blessings. And I told my church family yesterday, 'I'm just filled up to the top.' That song that says, 'fill my cup?' My cup is running over," said Taylor.

Miskelly's and WLBT will donate furniture to nearly 25 families this year, through the season of giving program.
