Governor's Office Responds to Twitter Controversy

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The Governor's office responded Thursday to WLBT's story about a U.M.C. employee being asked to resign because of a direct tweet to Governor Haley Barbour.

Dan turner from the governor's office called to say no one from there has contacted the UMC Compliance Office whatsoever.

Earlier this week WLBT reported the Governor's office contacted the UMC Compliance Office after Carter posted the tweet.

Jennifer Carter was responding to a comment made on Haley Barbour's twitter account. In the tweet, Barbour said he was looking forward to hearing the legislature's ideas on cutting down the budget.

Carter responded by saying the governor needed to schedule regular medical exams like everyone else.
