Armed robbers hold up fast food restaurant

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) –  Criminals didn't take a break this Christmas holiday weekend, keeping Jackson police busy searching for the robbers who held up a fast food restaurant.

J.P.D. officers said Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits employees at 5351 I-55 North were victims of an armed robbery Saturday evening.

According to investigators, two armed men entered the business around 6:30p.m. and demanded money from the workers.

They took an undetermined amount of cash then fled on foot.

It is not clear if customers were also in the restaurant at the time.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Workers told police they last saw the two men running west behind the building toward Bounds Street.
