HOLMES COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - The death of an inmate at the Holmes County jail is being investigated as a possible homicide.
Sheriff Willie March says inmate Kelvin Hollimon was in a large holding cell Tuesday evening when inmates alerted guards that he was hurt. Hollimon was found lying on the floor of the cell. He later died at a Jackson hospital. Early indications show he died from blunt trauma to the head. An autopsy will be performed to determine the actual cause of death. Hollimon was serving a 14 year sentence for burglary.
