JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The year 2009 may have been a good year for the City of Jackson as murder rates declined, but 2010 has already seen plenty of violence. Two nightclub shootings in the past few nights, and now an armed robbery in broad daylight.
Around 8:15 Saturday morning, a man armed with a gun held up the Exxon gas station at 917 North State Street, just south of Fortification Street. Police say the man confronted the store clerk with a gun and demanded money, then left in a gray late model Lincoln, possibly a Town Car.
He's described as a black male wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants, and a Chicago Cubs hat.
