'Chopper Bob' Rall remembered

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - After a long career in broadcasting, "Chopper Bob" Rall was laid to rest Friday.

Amily, friends, and co-workers gathered at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Jackson to say their last good-byes.

Bob died in his sleep late Monday night of heart failure. For more than a decade, he did live traffic reports from Skycopter-3 for morning commuters. That was only part of his 50 years in radio and television.

Bob's pastor remembered him Friday not only for his ability to inform and make people laugh, but for his devotion to his church.

"I just miss seeing his face. He had the flexibility to come by here in his capacity as senior warden, which is the leader of our lay parish council, had the flexibility to come by every day, and I'll miss that too. I miss my friend," said St. Philip's Episcopal Church minister, Rev. Tom Slawson.

Bob Rall was 67 years old.
