JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Ridgeland Police are looking for a person of interest the city's first homicide of the year. According to Madison County Coroner Alex Breland, 22-year-old Carmen Sanders was killed overnight at the Pinebrook Apartments in the 100 block of Pine Knoll Drive.
Officers responded to the apartment complex around 11:00 Friday night. Ridgeland Police along with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations crime scene unit processed the scene for hours, gathering information and evidence. Assistant Chief Randy Tyler said the official cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
Coroner Breland said an autopsy was performed on Sanders Saturday, but the results have not yet been released. Ridgeland Police said they have a person of interest; however, they are not releasing any more information.
