SOSO, MS (WLBT) – A fiery early Sunday morning crash in Jones county claimed two lives and left authorities with the task of trying to determine the people the identity of one of the victims.
Mississippi Highway Patrol Staff Sergeant Perry Synder said that sometime after one a.m. the head on collision killed both drivers.
The two vehicles crashed while traveling west of Laurel on Highway 28 near the Jones-Jasper county line.
One person was badly burned and died at the scene.
No other occupants were in the vehicles.
Snyder said the Jones county coroner and state troopers were coordinating efforts to try to find out who that burned motorist is.
The name of the other driver and details about the crash are not being released at this time.
