JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Although the State Department of Health has given the all clear for some of Jackson's water quality, the city's public schools will have no classes Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King Holiday.
Since last Monday students have lost more than four and a half days of classes due to the water crisis.
J.P.S. Spokesperson Peggy Hampton said Sunday that administrators will make a decision Monday as to when students will return.
They plan to check each school building to determine if water service has been restored and if it is safe to drink.
