MADISON, Miss. (AP) - Former U.S. Rep. Chip Pickering and the soccer coach with whom he scuffled after youth league match have dropped assault complaints against each other.
Madison Municipal Judge Dale Danks agreed Tuesday to the request from Pickering and Chris Hester.
The two had accused each other of simple assault in a Dec. 6 incident at a Madison park.
Pickering said no financial settlement was involved in the decision to drop the complaint.
Hester said he would file a civil lawsuit for damages against the former congressman.
Hester and Pickering scuffled after the soccer game for 10- and 11-year-old boys. Hester coached a South Madison County Soccer League team that played against Pickering's son's team at Liberty Park.
