RANKIN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Authorities in Rankin County have made an arrest in a seven year old cold case murder.
Last week, the Rankin County District Attorney's office arrested Terry McGee Junior for the murder of James McCoy.
McCoy was found shot multiple times on Highway 43 on October 11, 2003.
Witnesses say McCoy was run off the road and trapped by three other vehicles as part of an ongoing dispute.
Terry McGee was in one of the cars.
At the time, family members told WLBT news the gun used to kill McCoy belonged to McGee, but he claimed self defense.
He was arrested, then eventually set free, when his case was dropped by former District Attorney David Clark.
