JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - $20,000 dollars -- that's the amount Mayor Frank Melton's former bodyguards will have to pay in restitution for their roles in destroying what Melton called a "crack house" in Jackson.
Marcus Wright and Michael Recio agreed Wednesday to pay homeowner Jennifer Sutton $15,000 dollars. Her Ridgeway Street tenant, Evans Welch, will get $5,000 dollars in restitution from the pair.
Jennifer Sutton has a civil lawsuit still pending against the city of Jackson.
Melton and the bodyguards were accused of leading a vigilante raid on the duplex in 2006.
Melton died last year and was never convicted of a crime related to the raid.
Wright and Recio pleaded guilty and were sentenced to probation.
