Nine people enter guilty pleas in state's largest meth ring bust

HATTIESBURG, MS (WLBT) - In Hattiesburg, nine more people entered guilty pleas to federal charges connected with the largest alleged methamphetamine ring ever busted in Mississippi Tuesday.

Reputed leader, Christopher Stewart, of Walthall County is also known as "Batman". He was among those who pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court.

Sentencing is set for April 20th.

At least three others had already pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges.

Dozens of people were arrested last summer as part of an alleged multimillion dollar distribution network with ties to Alabama, Florida and Texas.

Investigators said the group distributed more than 50-pounds of Mexican meth a month.
