RESERVOIR (WLBT) - The water amusement park, Rapids on the Reservoir, is being torn down.
This comes after at least two years of the park being vacant and falling into decay. Originally The Bryan Corporation and it's owner Steve Bryan had announced plans to turn the site into luxury condos. But when the economy turned sour, there was an attempt to turn the area into apartments.
Reservoir area residents opposed that and had protest meetings to fight it.
The reservoir board sided with the residents and ordered the area cleaned up.
Jefferson County Sheriff Peter Walker has identified the woman found dead in the cemetery of East Mount Olive Baptist Church Wednesday night.
