Multiple slayings suspect in court on separate charge

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Ricky Franklin was indicted last month on charges of forcible rape, sexual battery, kidnapping and aggravated assault.

The charges involve the alleged November 7th attack on a 21-year-old Jackson woman at his mobile home in Bolton.

He has not been charged in the other cases because of a lack of evidence. The alleged victim from Jackson told authorities Franklin raped her twice, beat her with liquor bottles and choked her.

Franklin's attorney, Mike Scott, says his client had consensual sex with the woman and they fought over money.
