JACKSON, MS (WLBT) – A Jackson business is doing its part to raise money for earthquake victims in Haiti.
Smoak Hair Salon, which is located in the Fondren area, opened its doors Monday at noon offering haircuts at half price.
It's called "Hair for Haiti" and all proceeds will go to the Salvation Army.
Owner Suzanne Moak says she got her inspiration to help the people of Haiti while her business was closed during Jackson's water crisis.
Stylists at the salon say they got a number of walk-in clients who heard about the one-day event on television.
The salon is normally closed on Mondays.
