Pedestrian injured in car accident - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS
JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson police say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle around 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Highway 80 and South Gallatin Street.
A gray Pontiac Firebird sustained major damage to its front end.
The unidentified white male was knocked out of shoes.
He was transported to a local hospital.
Police are not sure if he was trying to dodge traffic.
"It's apparent in the preliminary investigation that the individual as trying to cross the street and got struck by the vehicle but at this time its too early to tell," said Officer Joseph Daughtry. "We're waiting for accident investigators to come here to reconstruct the scene."
So far, no word on the victims condition.
