"Between the Lions" puppets put on a show

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Children enjoyed a special treat at the Mississippi Museum of Art Saturday.  The "Between the Lions" puppets -- Lionel, Leona, Leo, and Theo -- paid them a visit!

"Between the Lions" is an educational show produced in Jackson at Mississippi Public Broadcasting, and also in Boston.

"Between the Lions" airs during the "PBS Kids" programming block and has won ten Emmy awards. The puppet shows are part of the "Jim Henson's Fantastic World" exhibit at the museum.

"Part of the exhibit feeds out into our Family Corners, the Mississippi Connection to puppetry. There's a stage for kids to play and try their hand at puppetry," says Semite King, Museum Director of Development.

Four "Between the Lions" puppet shows took place Saturday.
