JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The Jackson Police Department will hold a house of worship crime prevention seminar to help arm churches with information needed to protect their properties.
Specialists will offer strategies on premise security, exterior lighting, security systems and landscaping designs.
Officials said there have been nine recent break-ins at local churches.
"The guys are taking it personally because anyone who would break into a house of worship, I've got a problem with that, and the community should have a problem with that because if they need anything they can go to the church and ask for it," said J.P.D. Officer Joseph Daughtry.
The seminar will be held Wednesday, February third from one to three p.m. at the Jackson Police Training Academy.
