JACKSON, MS (WLBT) – A Jackson fugitive sentenced to 80 years in prison last year has been captured by federal agents.
20-year-old Leo Wales was taken into custody in Minnesota last week by U.S. marshals.
In November, Wales failed to show up for trial in Hinds County Circuit Court to face robbery and aggravated assault charges in the attack on Iraq war veteran Michael Robinson March 7th, 2009.
Judge Swan Yerger ruled Wales was in default and proceeded with the trial.
The jury found Wales guilty and an arrest warrant was issued.
