It's tax time. The good news is thousands of Mississippians are eligible to file their taxes free online. Thanks to a government and private industry partnership, tax preparation for those who make under 57-thousand dollars a year is being offered as a free service.

At the WIN Job Center Thursday a number of representatives were training to help filers. Computers will be available at public libraries, or you can use software programs available through the Free File Alliance which includes Turbo Tax.

The best part is that " E-filing" your income tax means refund money back in your pocket within 8-10 days, and it saves the state money since it costs much more to process a paper return.

Help is available at WIN job centers.

Free file is a partnership between the IRS, www.freefile.irs.gov, 20 state tax agencies including Mississippi's, http://www.mstc.state.ms.us (click on e-file income tax providers link under current news) and the nation's electronic tax software manufacturers.
