Irby hearing postponed

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (AP) - Hinds County Circuit Judge Winston Kidd has postponed a motion hearing in a lawsuit stemming from a 2009 crash that killed two doctors.

Kidd delayed the hearing because one of the attorneys in the case was snowed-in. The $60 million lawsuit was filed against businessman Stuart Irby and his wife, Karen, by the families of Dr. Mark Pogue and his fiancee, Dr. Lisa Dedousis, who were killed in the collision.

Karen Irby is scheduled to be tried in March on criminal charges stemming from the crash. The doctors' families have asked the court for permission to question Stuart Irby about the night of the crash. Stuart Irby's doctors say he suffered traumatic brain damage.
