JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson Evers International Airport officials said they expect to be fully operational Saturday. That was good news for travelers who were stuck on the ground Friday. The airport saw four inches of snow by midday. That along with bad weather in other parts of the country grounded flights.
Delta, Northwest, Southwest and US Airways canceled all inbound and outbound flights. Stranded travelers called it frustrating.
"I've been trying to go to San Antonio. I've been here actually two days. I was supposed to be routed through Dallas and pretty much every flight to Dallas has been cut short," said Monica Meeks traveling with her one year old son.
"The key is for heaven's sakes check with the air line before coming out here, but it looks like everything will be operating 100%," said Jackson Municipal Airport Authority Chief Executive Officer Dirk B. VAnderleest.
The Jackson Evers International Airport sees about 40 flight operations a day. Friday 35 departures and arrivals were canceled.
