Families enjoy Dixie National Rodeo Parade

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - February is a big month in Mississippi for rodeo fans! The Dixie National Rodeo runs for an entire week at the fairgrounds, and on Saturday, cowboys and cowgirls were treated to the annual Dixie National Rodeo Parade through downtown Jackson.

The parade gives us all a chance to get an up-close look at the beautiful horses, caravans, and beauty queens that take part in the rodeo.

It also includes classic cars and military vehicles.

Families come from all over the state for the fun.

"We're going to the rodeo, watching the parade," says Austin Garrison of Magee.  "I like the cows when they're bucking and stuff."

"Every year we come, bring the family, good family fun," says Pam Wedgeworth of Smith County.

The Dixie National Rodeo has been going on since Wednesday.
