VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT) - An argument at a Vicksburg night club ends with a fatal shooting miles away when the victim is gunned down outside a convenience store.
Vicksburg police have charged 18-year-old Dominic Rashad Turner with murder. Officers say shortly before 1a.m. He opened fire on 18-year old Derek Stamps of Vicksburg.
Stamps was shot multiple times and died at the scene. Witnesses say the two who were acquaintances had argued at Joanne's Club in the Kings Community.
Turner reportedly followed Stamps to a convenience store on Mission 66. According to store security, Turner suddenly pulled a gun and fired shots at Stamps as he tried to get into a car.
"They started in the kinds and brought it here. When he took the other guys girlfriend," said Exxon store owner, George Shaibi.
"When police arrived on scene we found one subject deceased in a vehicle on the parking lot," added Vicksburg Police, Sgt. Sandra Williams.
Turner surrendered himself to police around 8:30 Sunday morning.
