JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A jury has been seated in the Stanley Cole murder trial.  Cole is standing trial for the 2007 murder of JSU student, Latasha Norman.  Norman was his ex-girlfriend at the time.

The jury selection, which lasted six days was delayed because of the high-profile nature of the case.  Potential jurors had to be questioned extensively because of the amount of media attention the case has received.

Latasha Norman was found stabbed to death in a north Jackson field in November of 2007.  She had been missing for two weeks before Cole finally lead investigators to her body.

Norman had filed assault charges against Cole after he struck her at a Pearl restaurant, just days before she disappeared.

The jury is made up of 8 women, and four men.  The two alternates are both women.

If convicted, Cole could face life in prison.

Opening Statements will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
