PETAL, MS (WDAM) - The city of Petal is about to begin a major street improvement project.
About 3 miles of city streets are going to be re-paved, beginning in about a month, officials said.
The Board of Aldermen Tuesday accepted a bid from Warren Paving of just over $177,000.
The work will take about two months to complete.
Also, the board took under advisement a request from Petal resident Benjamin West who wants the city to consider building a general aviation airport.
The city also recognized the Petal Masonic Lodge on its 100th anniversary.
