ADAMS COUNTY (WLBT) - Two people are dead and another in critical condition after an overnight shooting in eastern Adams County. it happened in the Fenwick community, six miles east of Natchez.
The house at 5 east street was a known crack house, according to neighbors.
Sheriff Chuck Mayfield identified the victims as 50-year-old Carl Ray Williams of Roxie and 19-year-old Stephanie Anderson of Adams County. Sixteen-year-old Tina Garner is in critical condition in a Natchez hospital.
Sheriff Mayfield believes robbery was the motive.
"Two black males wearing masks. One suspect is described as six feet or taller, thin and dark skinned. And the other suspect was not really identified as any thing other than as a black male. It's unclear at this time but at some point a shooting broke out. We are thinking, right now we are thinking that the motive was robbery" said Sheriff Mayfield.
The sheriff said there is no definite suspect at this time but there are several persons of interest.
He added that Williams had recently received a large disability settlement.
Neighbors wouldn't says who lives in the house where the shooting occurred.
