Testimony has wrapped up in the Stanley Cole murder trial. Jurors were sent home just after 4 p.m. Friday, after the defense presented their case.

After the state rested, defense attorney's requested the murder charges against Cole, be thrown out, claiming the state didn't provide enough evidence.  Judge Swan Yerger denied that motion, and they then called only two witnesses.

One of the final witnesses for the state was former State Pathologist, Dr. Stephen Hayne. He testified that he found a deep wound on Latasha Norman's chest, during her autopsy. Hayne ruled that she died from being stabbed.

The two Jackson police investigators also testified that Stanley Cole confessed to Latasha's murder.

Detectives Crystal Tillman and Sam Neal, testified that Cole admitted to killing Latasha, and told them where to find her body, 16 days after she went missing.

Friday afternoon, Stanley Cole's confession, which was videotaped in 2007, was played in open court for jurors.

Latasha's family has been in the courtroom everyday. Her stepfather, Danny Bolden says they're confident prosecutors did their best in presenting their case.

Closing arguments will begin Monday morning, after jury instructions are finalized.

Stanley Cole declined an opportunity to testify.
