School employee faces additional drug charges

HAZLEHURT, MS (WLBT) - A school custodian arrested in Hazlehurst by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics has additional charges to answer to.

Twenty-six year old Sam Jefferson, III, was arrested Thursday morning at Hazlehurst Middle School. Agents with MBN seized about $3,500 in marijuana, a set of digitals scales, ammunition , and several containers of alcohol.

Jefferson is now charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute while on a school campus, possession of an explosive device on a school campus, and possession of alcohol on a school campus. A drug sniffing dog was used to locate the narcotics in Jefferson's vehicle.
