JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - It is one of the biggest events for a high school student...Prom!  Prom-A-Palooza 2010 featured everything to do with the big dance.  Students worked the runway showing off the latest fashions at Northpark Mall's center court Sunday afternoon.

Metro Teen Jackson hosted a model search and vendors displayed all things related to high school's biggest dance.  During the event, teens are also encouraged to donate their gently used formal dresses to Operation Prom Princess.  The non profit will then distribute the dresses to teens who could not otherwise afford a dress for prom.

"We've been able to help nearly 100 girls go to prom in the past couple of years. We would love to help many more. We've had a lot of donations," said Operation Prom Princess co-creator Olivia Burgess.

"A lot of girls feel like they can't afford them for prom and they feel like they can not go to prom because of that.  I think this gives them an opportunity to go to prom," said Burgess' daughter Madison.
