HINDS COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A Hinds County jury convicts a man of forcible rape and aggravated assault.
Authorities say in January 2008 Matthew Miller drove his girlfriend's 16-year-old daughter to a remote area in Hinds County, bludgeoned her with a board, and then raped her. After he forced her back into the car the victim jumped from the moving vehicle and ran to a nearby Utica home.
A local family treated her wound then called for help. Miller attempted to get the girl, but the family shot at him.
Miller was sentenced to 50 years in prison and will not be eligible for parole until 2056.
