JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - High tea was served at the Fairview Inn for those looking to support children at the Little Light House in Brandon. More than 200 people packed into Sophia's restaurant at the historic Jackson inn wearing colorful hats and dresses. It was the fifth annual tea party to raise money for the Christian developmental center. WLBT's own Stephanie Bell-Flynt served as the event's inspirational speaker.
21 children with special needs ranging in age from infants to six years old receive one on one educational and therapeutic services all for free. "Most of the parents have said to me I can't even get into another preschool. Nobody wants me. Nobody wants the situation so I've had a passion for this for many years. My background. is as a nurse and as an educator and I just want them to reach their full potential," said Little Light House Executive Director Maureen Harbinson.
