JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A Hinds County man convicted of raping his girlfriend's teenage daughter is sentenced to 50 years behind bars.
Thirty four year old Matthew Miller was found guilty of forcible rape and aggravated assault yesterday in Hinds County Circuit Court. According to authorities, in January 2008 Miller drove the 16-year old to a remote location, beat her with a board and then raped her.
The victim managed to escape and run to a nearby home in Utica. The family there called police and when Miller arrived to get the girl they shot at him. Miller will be eligible for parole in 2056.
